A digital long tail refers to the large amount of things that could be defined as “digital”. Surely, everyone thinks of a cell phone as being part of the “digital age”, but what about a voice recorder? How about a wireless fob for security access? All of these are part of the “long tail” for the digital world.
In a move that has left a lot of industry watchers amazed, Dallas based MetroPCS Communications has announced that they will begin allowing customers to bring their cell phones from other carriers to have them reprogrammed to use the MetroPCS system.
